My 6th grade artists finished their coil pots. This is such a classic and yet great clay hand building skill. I taught coil building in elementary school and am still building upon those important techniques now that I am teaching middle school.
They created small pinch pots with a coil foot and then they used various coils to create unique works of art.
While each pot is made strictly of coils and a pinch pot they all look very unique.
The students then glazed them using various glazes with thick coats so not only do these coil structures look good but they will work well too! Some of them will do great jobs and others are just meant to be beautiful- either way I love them all as do the kids- which of course is the most important thing!
Be Well and Enjoy!
